The National Osteoporosis institution says a bone-density test may help:
- Your doctor diagnoses osteoporosis or a weakness in the bones. This can give you and your doctor new information after you have already broken a bone, or help you to avoid a future splinter.
- Check the improvement or advance of your bone density.
- Check the value of osteoporosis medication.
